Cop Design topic Ideas

I am beginning to consider what I will design as part of my context of practice module.
I need to consider what techniques I will use, what content I will include and what I wish to communicate.
I want to create some time of political propaganda poster on a more current affair.
Some of my topic ideas are:

  • Syrian Children
  • Refugee Crisis
  • Paris Attacks
  • Isis / Islamist Militants
  • Tunisian Attack
  • Uk politics
  • labour(Jeremy Corbyn)
  • Conservative(David Cameron)
  • World Politics
I made a mind map to show my ideas

I decided to work on posters to persuade people to help Syrian Refugees as it is a popular current crisis that is effecting the world.

I began to think about what my poster would entail and how it could link to my essay, I made some key points.
  • Propaganda poster needs to be politically driven and have a strong message
  • Don't be too negative about a certain type of people
I could do some research into posters that helped jewish people get into the UK during WW2.

Don't Bomb Syria Protest

I went to a protest in Leeds that was against bombing Syria as this political message is what I was thinking of creating in my Practical piece along side my essay. I took photographs of the protesters and some of their posters to gain an idea of what public campaign posters can look like and what messages they put across. I also wanted to see weather a gathering of people could make an impact and there was some public attention. This helped me gain ideas for my poster on Syria and it was great to see passionate people who want to save innocent civilians.
